Being the women’s basketball coach at the University of Northern Iowa allowed me the opportunity to speak to numerous schools across the state of Iowa as well as to many community groups, businesses, and corporations. It has always been a passion of mine to teach others about the importance of staying positive. The theme of my speech is “Making Every Day Count”. In this presentation, I talk about the importance of having a positive attitude in life, how valuable this is throughout your lifetime, how it can allow you to create healthy relationships with others, and how one’s actions can positively influence others.
I will also speak on the value of having an excellent work ethic and the role it plays in your development as a person. Lastly, I speak about the importance of having a passion in life, as it helps motivate you to reach your goals in life. I do this in an incredibly positive, upbeat manner and utilize stories that have impacted other students and players I have taught and coached throughout my career.
